Careers at GIFT
GIFT is an energetic, lively place to work! It takes a particular kind of person to thrive here – and to help the organisation thrive.
We welcome individuals for whom action and ideas are of equal importance and who view the gap between ideal and reality as an opportunity, not an obstacle!
Current openings:
Editorial Manager
In recent years the pace at which GIFT’s programmes have grown has outstripped our ability to produce and leverage world class content in the form of publications, reports and media rich materials.
Each programme produces a wealth of original research, insights from field visits and both qualitative and quantitative analysis. New models and proposals for meaningful social businesses and investments are developed and rare photo journalistic content is derived from intimate interaction with partners and stakeholders throughout diverse cultures and geographies.
Currently GIFT has a team of in-house researchers and programme execution staff. We are now in search of an experienced editorial manager to lead the process of developing content so that it can be leveraged internationally and also create new ways to monetise the resulting outputs.
Job Description
The Editorial Manager will be responsible for:
- Managing and maintaining a high level of professional quality throughout the range of GIFT’s published material, both offline and online;
- Identifying new opportunities for pitching and securing publication of GIFT’s work in journals, magazines and relevant publications;
- Creating and executing a strategy for monetising written material and working with the business development team to secure partnerships for distributing content as appropriate – possible channels include educational and research institutions, corporations and public sector agencies;
- Working with the programmes team to develop marketing materials, press releases, project briefing notes and other programme related documents as needed;
- Working to guide research staff and manage the development of content according to the schedule of upcoming programmes, executive seminars and other fee-based work.
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual with writing, editing and business experience to develop his/her career within a dynamic and unique environment. The ideal candidate should possess an efficient and detail oriented work ethic and be eager to create and fill new channels of influential and meaningful content which ultimately drives additional revenue for GIFT.
