FIELD PROJECT: URBAN MOBILITY IN YANGON
Urban Mobility is a challenge for most emerging economy cities, none more so than Yangon, the recently resurgent and largest city in Myanmar. Home to six million people, the number of cars has more than doubled in four years; the ensuing gridlock is a major constraint to economic growth.
Yangon is the epicenter of Myanmar’s transport woes, which the Asian Development Bank estimates will require $60 billion of investment countrywide in the coming fifteen years.
In close collaboration with local public and private sector partners, participants will gain real-world insights through interactions with policy makers, business and community leaders.
In the field project participants will engage in site visits, focus groups and market surveys leading to the production and presentation of actionable recommendations to address Yangon’s Urban Mobility crisis.
